Our Autumn Bounty

Filed under: gardenworks, seasonal, gardenworks farm — Meg @ 4:57 pm

The squash and pumpkins have been harvested.  We lost track of the number of truckloads…it was a good year.  Now time to clean-up the field and sow a winter cover crop. Corrina and I will pick the last of the hydrangeas for drying next week…no threat of frost yet but the colors are turning.

Bridget has to make lots more cider donuts to meet the demand and her fruit pies sell right out of the oven.  Arlene seems to think we will have a busy weekend because the raspberry picking is so good.  The berries are big and really sweet.  No rain in the forecast so we’re glad we have the irrigation running.  The apples and cider really taste good now too.

Got to plan for next week’s Harvestfest where we prepare all the soups and pies for sampling…everyone makes their favorite recipe.  Customers can’t believe we are so generous and squash tastes so good.
